Easy Fundraising Hello,
This message is mostly directed to the Board Members of the Men's Water Polo Team and the Parents.
The Seaholm Boys Swimming and Water Polo Teams have done this for the past couple of years and it couldn't be easier. It is not a one time fundraiser, it accumulates to a worthwhile amount over the year. It would involve the parents, players, alumni and any other friends and neighbors who shop for groceries. If just the members of the Team and their families participate on a monthly basis, over the year, the team would accumulate enough funds to help with some of their expenses.
It involves earning a 5% rebate on grocery purchases made at Farmer Jack. As a rough estimate, if 20 families committed to $250 of grocery purchases (gift card) per month, after 12 months, the team would earn $3000 and it could go up from there. The gift cards are dollar for dollar in amount and they are used like any other gift card. It is a win-win situation since everyone needs to eat and there is basically no cost to participate in the program. The team would benefit from the rebate.
The logistics would have to be worked out, but I don't think that would be a big deal. I would take orders on a monthly basis, you would send me a check, I would pay for and pick up the cards, and I would probably have to mail them out to you. This may be the only glitch since the cards are already activited and are basically like cash. I would think with the mail system, they would be pretty safe. The 5% rebate would be sent to the treasurer.
Board Members and Parents, give it some thought. There are other stores that participate, but right now I only have information about the Farmer Jack Program. We could expand in the future.
I am not sure how the decision making process occurs with this group. The Wolverine Invitational would be a good time for me to distribute the first batch of cards if we decide to go with this. I will wait to hear from the higher ups? before proceeding. If I place an order on Monday, I get the cards on Thursday. I would need to place an order by next Monday. I could have order forms available for this weekend, or we could perhaps have them available on this website somewhere?
Thank you.

We do not have a Farmer Jack in our area. I could support having my UM students purchase groceries there. In general, these programs work well. our high school has it with Meijers and Target. Mom Kurdys
